A boycott of Elsevier?

February 12, 2012 By Chandra Clarke Leave a Comment

The Register is reporting that there is growing dissatisfaction with the way Elsevier, a publisher of many of the world’s top academic journals, is doing business. Citing a blog post by Tim Gowers, The Register says that the high cost of subscriptions and the company’s support of things like SOPA is causing a lot of academics to cry foul. Also check out the petition, which at the time of this post had more than 5000 signatures.
