Project: Online Wisdom Lab
The University of Birmingham is developing an app to help you learn how your thinking skills, decision making and health behaviour during changes in adulthood.
Funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the project is being led by Professor Jane Raymond, Professor Ian Apperly,
Dr Sarah Beck, Dr Suzanne Higgs, and post-doc Lily Fitzgibbons.
By completing surveys and fun games within the app, you will be able to learn more about your own thinking and behaviour, and help the researchers to understand how cognitive skills change throughout the lifespan.
For example, one of the games will be called “Cheat the Thief.” The objective will be to get as many coins as possible by clicking boxes. However, a thief hidden in one of the boxes will swipe all your coins if you uncover him. The question will be do you keep going and risk it all? Or do you safely bank what you’ve got?
To learn more about the upcoming app, check out the site, or follow the OWL page on Facebook. The app is in the testing phase, so should be available soon.
